My 5 year old daughter and I loved this book. We finished it in 3 nights of bedtime reading. Now at bedtime she just wants me to open it up and read. She just loved figuring out what the dog is talking about (yerp) and laughs and laughs. I would have to put it down so she could settle down to sleep. We are really hoping Volume II will come out soon!!!

I love this book. It is cute and funny. I love the authors imagination. Also, I like how it is written as diary entries. It makes it easy to read a little at a time since I am a busy new mom! I would recommend The Layla Diaries to anyone who wants to read something that will put a smile on their face. Ready for the sequel already!
I think all dog owners have that "voice" in there head that they imagine their dog would sound like if they could actually speak to them. You can actually hear this voice through Layla's daily antics. Her perspective on human life is hilarious. This is a great book for parents and grandparents to read aloud to the little ones. I also love the pictures that put real faces with the characters of the book.
